Turning Black Friday into Good Deal Friday

The inspirational global, organic tea producer Pukka Herbs which has a turnover of almost £36 million, approached HeadOn PR after successfully working with us on a joint media campaign with energy performance and carbon management business, Carbon Credentials.

HeadOn PR was brought in to help advise and deliver a widespread media and social media campaign called ‘Give Back This Black Friday’, that would reach a mix of key consumer, business and environmental trade media. As the tea producer continues its fight against climate change, we worked with the guys at Pukka to turn one of the busiest shopping weekends into an opportunity for shoppers to feel great by doing something wholesome and good – rather than buy lots of stuff they probably don’t want or need!

Using our press contacts and communications skills, we spread the word that Pukka was donating 100% of purchases made on pukkaherbs.com between Black Friday (23 November) to Cyber Monday (26 November) to TreeSisters; helping to plant trees around the world. TreeSisters is a charity that currently plants over two million trees every year globally – across eight varied tropical ecosystems – supporting restoration through reforestation.

Results:

  • The campaign was extremely successful, generating widespread chatter and press coverage in the days leading up to Black Friday, appearing in key top tier national and consumer media titles
